Quick answer
First, get an offer from a CRICOS registered university or college, accept it and pay the deposit so the provider issues your Confirmation of Enrolment. Next, buy Overseas Student Health Cover and gather proof of funds for your first 12 months. Then lodge the Student visa (subclass 500) online in ImmiAccount, answering the Genuine Student questions. Home Affairs may then ask for biometrics, which you must give within 14 days, and a health examination. Our step by step guide to the Australia student visa from Gujarat covers each stage, or call +91 75740 33366.
Our part in your file
An Australia application is built in layers: the course decides the CoE, the CoE decides the fees you must show, and the fees shape the funds evidence. We work through those layers in order, so one weak link does not undo the rest.
We match your marks, gap years and budget to courses that make sense for your career, and we check each provider's processing priority before you pay a deposit.
We read the conditions on your letter of offer, plan the deposit, and check every line of the CoE against your passport the day it arrives. For packaged courses, we confirm the gap between them is under two calendar months.
Your provider and Home Affairs may each want an English score. Prepare with our IELTS coaching or PTE coaching, timed so your result is ready before your applications close.
You write the answers; we help you structure them. Each response must address the Genuine Student criteria within 150 words, and it has to match what your documents say.
We help you choose between the savings route and the parental income route, then build a money trail that shows where the funds came from. Compare lenders in our guide to an education loan for study abroad.
We prepare the ImmiAccount application with you, then track any request for biometrics or a health examination so nothing misses its deadline.
We go through your visa conditions with you before you fly. Changing course or provider later has rules of its own: you generally need a release to move provider in your first six months, so it pays to pick the right course now.
Your checklist
The Home Affairs Document Checklist Tool tells you which evidence to attach, based on your passport and your provider. It is updated on 31 March and 30 September each year, so we check it again just before you lodge.
| Document | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Passport | Your visa is linked to it, and every other document must match its spelling of your name and date of birth. |
| Confirmation of Enrolment for each course | Without a CoE for every intended course, Home Affairs treats the application as invalid. |
| Genuine Student responses | Answered in the online form in English; officers compare them with your study history and plans. |
| Academic transcripts and certificates | They show the course you chose follows on from what you studied before. |
| Evidence of funds or parental income | Savings, a loan or scholarship, or official tax assessments for the income route, when the checklist asks for them. |
| Source of funds records | Transaction statements show how the money built up. A balance certificate for a single day does not. |
| English test result | Needed if your checklist or provider asks for it, and based on your main course of study. |
| Overseas Student Health Cover | Required for the visa, and it must start from the day you arrive in Australia. |
Before you apply
These are the rules that shape most decisions our students make about Australia. Figures are as published by the Department of Home Affairs at the time of writing; check them again before you lodge.
Start dates are set by each university and college, so the intake you aim for depends on the course. Our Australia intake roadmap helps you count back from your start date to the month you should take your English test.
| Topic | What Home Affairs says |
|---|---|
| Work while studying | Up to 48 hours a fortnight while your course is in session, with no limit for master's by research and doctoral students. |
| Living cost figure | AUD 29,710 for a student for 12 months, plus fees and travel. It is the visa minimum, not a real budget. |
| Health cover | Overseas Student Health Cover for your whole stay, starting from your arrival date rather than your course start date. |
| After graduation | Indian nationals on the Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) can stay 2 years after a bachelor's, 3 years after a master's and 4 years after a PhD. |
| Processing order | Offshore applications follow Ministerial Direction 115, which sets priority by your provider's allocation. Priority affects speed, not the decision. |

At the time of writing, Home Affairs asks for AUD 29,710 for 12 months of living costs, the first 12 months of course fees minus anything already paid, and about AUD 2,000 for travel from India. Parents can instead show a personal annual income of at least AUD 87,856. Our guide to the Australia student visa financial requirements works through an example. Confirm the current figures on the Home Affairs website before you lodge.
No. Home Affairs needs a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) for every course you plan to study, and an application without one is invalid. Your university or college issues the CoE after you accept the offer and pay the deposit.
It is the test that you are coming to Australia mainly to study. In the online application you answer a set of questions in English, each with a 150 word limit, about your study plan and background. We help you prepare answers that are accurate and in your own words.
Home Affairs says Student visa holders can work up to 48 hours a fortnight while their course is in session. Students on a master's by research or a doctoral degree have no work limit. Check the conditions on your own visa grant.
Through the Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485). Under the Australia India trade agreement, Home Affairs lists 2 years for a bachelor's degree, 3 years for a bachelor's with first class honours in STEM, 3 years for a master's and 4 years for a PhD. You must usually be 35 or under and apply from inside Australia.
