Once it is validated you pay the EEF fee and sit an academic interview, online or at Campus France Ahmedabad. Next you accept an admission, fill in the long stay application on France-Visas and give biometrics at VFS in Ahmedabad; the Consulate General of France in Mumbai decides. Your file
France-Visas gives you the exact list for your case once you start the form. These are the papers almost every Gujarat student needs, and why each one matters to the officer reading your file.

The mistake we see most often is a funding story that changes between documents. The interview says your parents will pay, then the visa file leans on a loan, or the sponsor letter names a different account. Decide how you will pay before the Campus France interview and keep that answer the same everywhere.
Before you apply
Four facts that shape every France plan we make, all from Campus France India and the French government at the time of writing.

Working back from a September start, most Gujarat students shortlist courses and sit IELTS or another accepted test between October and December, submit the EEF file and attend the interview between November and February, receive decisions by April, and apply on France-Visas between April and June. Gujarat offices
You can start your France file at any of our Gujarat offices. Each team prepares the same EEF file and visa set; pick the one closest to home.
The rules are national, so a file from Rajkot is judged exactly like one from Ahmedabad or Delhi. Only the places change: Campus France interviews happen online or at its Ahmedabad office, and biometrics happen at VFS in Ahmedabad, so no student from Gujarat needs to travel to Mumbai for a France student visa.
Campus France Ahmedabad and the VFS France centre are both in the city, so interview day and biometrics day stay local.

Yes, for a long stay study visa from India. Campus France India asks every applicant to complete the Etudes en France procedure first: the online file, the fee and the academic interview. Only after you accept an admission do you apply on France-Visas and book VFS. Courses under 90 days use a short stay visa and skip this procedure.
At the VFS Global France visa application centre in Ahmedabad. The Consulate General of France in Mumbai decides the visa, but you do not need to visit it. Check the current VFS address and opening days before you set out, because the Ahmedabad centre has moved before.
Campus France India has announced a minimum of 877.50 euros a month for living costs from 1 August 2026, up from 615 euros, at the time of writing. The money can come from savings, a parent with a sponsorship letter, an education loan or a scholarship, as long as the story is the same in every document.
No. It is an academic interview about your course choice, your background, your plans and how you will pay, not a language test. It may be online or in person, and your appointment tells you which. If your profile has a gap year or a change of field, prepare that answer first: a clear, honest account of what you did and why this course makes sense is far stronger than a rehearsed speech.
Yes. The VLS-TS student visa allows work of up to 964 hours a year, which is 60% of a full time year. Plan your budget on your own funds, though, because the visa file must show the money before you travel, and part-time hours fit around classes rather than replace them.
