Quick answer

How do you get a New Zealand student visa from Gujarat?

Start with an offer of place from an approved New Zealand education provider. Then plan your tuition payment and gather living funds of NZD 20,000 a year at the time of writing, plus money for a ticket home. Book a chest X-ray with an INZ panel physician, and get a police certificate if you will stay 24 months or longer. Apply online and answer any INZ request quickly. How we help with New Zealand

What Our New Zealand Student Visa Consultants Handle

New Zealand rewards students who plan backwards: the work rights you want after graduation decide the course, and the course decides the money you must show. This is how we take you through it.

If your file is simple, with fees paid from savings your parents have held for years and a course that follows your degree, you may manage on your own. Families usually come to us when the money comes from several sources, there is a study gap to explain, or the student is changing field.

  1. Course choice with work rights in mind

We check the level and the full-time weeks of each course before you apply, because those two numbers decide whether you can get a post study work visa and for how long.

  2. Offer of place and tuition plan

We help you apply to providers, read the offer of place with you, and plan how you will prove tuition for one year or one course, whichever is shorter.

  3. Funds, sponsors and source of money

We line up bank statements with three months of history, fixed deposits, loan letters and the INZ 1014 financial undertaking for a parent or other immediate family member who supports you.

  4. Chest X-ray and police certificate

We time both so they are still valid when INZ reads them: the X-ray must be under 3 months old and the police certificate under 6 months old.

  5. English test and supporting papers

An English result is not compulsory for the visa but helps your case. Prepare with our IELTS coaching or PTE coaching alongside your applications.

  6. Online application and approval in principle

We prepare clear scans and a complete upload, then help you meet the short deadline in an approval in principle letter, whether that means paying tuition or funding a Funds Transfer Scheme account.

What INZ will see

Documents for a New Zealand Student Visa

Most students who pay their own fees apply for the Fee Paying Student Visa. Because the application is fully online, every document needs to explain itself without anyone there to add context.

DocumentWhy it matters
PassportIt must stay valid for at least 3 months after the date you plan to leave New Zealand.
Offer of placeIt confirms your course, dates and scheduled holidays, and the provider's view that you can pass the course.
Proof of tuitionAn official receipt from the provider. INZ does not accept screenshots of transfers or receipts issued by agents.
Living funds evidenceBank statements for the last 3 months, fixed deposits held at least 3 months, a scholarship letter or a loan sanction.
Financial Undertaking for a Student (INZ 1014)Needed when an immediate family member supports you, with their own recent bank evidence.
Source of funds papersSalary slips, income tax returns or business records that explain where the money came from.
Outward ticket or extra fundsMoney for a flight home sits on top of the living cost figure, not inside it.
Chest X-ray and police certificateThe X-ray applies to stays of 6 months or more; the police certificate to stays of 24 months or longer.
Medical and travel insuranceYou agree to hold insurance acceptable to your provider for the whole time your visa lasts.

Key rules

Study in New Zealand: What to Know First

These points come from Immigration New Zealand at the time of writing. Rules and fees change, so we check the INZ website again before every application. Course start dates are set by each provider, so plan your English test, applications and funds around the date on your offer of place rather than a general intake month.

TopicWhat INZ says
Living fundsNZD 20,000 for each year of tertiary study, or NZD 1,667 a month for shorter courses.
Work while studyingUp to 25 hours a week during study and full-time in scheduled holidays, depending on your visa conditions.
Timing80% of applications are decided within 8 weeks. INZ advises applying at least 3 months before travel, and its busiest season runs from October to March.
English resultsNot mandatory for the visa, but INZ says they help show genuine intent.
After graduationA post study work visa of up to 3 years, depending on your qualification level and how long you studied for it.

New Zealand Student Visa Consultant in Gujarat: Your Questions

How much money do I need for a New Zealand student visa?

At the time of writing, Immigration New Zealand asks tertiary students for NZD 20,000 for each year of study, or NZD 1,667 a month for courses shorter than a year. On top of that you need proof of tuition for one year or one course, whichever is shorter, and an outward ticket or money to buy one. Our guide to New Zealand student visa funds has a worked example.

Can a relative other than my parents sponsor my New Zealand student visa?

Only immediate family. For Indian citizens applying from India, INZ accepts your partner, parents, siblings, grandparents or parents-in-law as a sponsor or guarantor. An uncle or a family friend cannot sign the financial undertaking.

Do I need IELTS or PTE for a New Zealand student visa?

INZ does not make an English result mandatory for the visa itself, but it says results help show you are a genuine student, so include them. Your education provider may also set an English score as a condition of your offer of place.

Is there an interview or biometrics appointment for New Zealand?

The steps INZ publishes for this visa are all online, and a biometrics appointment is not one of them. That is why the quality of your uploaded documents matters so much. If INZ asks for your passport or a document in person, it will tell you where to send it.

Can I work while studying in New Zealand?

Eligible students can work up to 25 hours a week during study and full-time in scheduled holidays. Your exact work rights are printed in your visa conditions, so read them before you accept a job.

Will my course give me a post study work visa?

It depends on its level and length. A level 9 master's gives a 3 year visa only if you studied at least 30 weeks full-time while enrolled in the master's itself. At level 8 or below, the visa usually matches your study time. You can hold this visa only once.
