Masters Abroad After SVNIT: Your CGPA, a Worked Example
The mistake we see most often with masters abroad after SVNIT is multiplying CGPA by 10 and writing that number everywhere. There is no single global formula. Universities either read your 10 point CGPA directly, use their own tables, ask for your institute's official conversion, or rely on a credential evaluator such as WES.
SVNIT's forms page carries a certificate, dated 2010, setting out its conversion: CGPA x 10 for BTech students admitted up to 2007 to 08, and (CGPA minus 0.5) x 10 for entrants from 2008 to 09 onwards. Check with the Academic Section that this is still the version that applies to your batch, and ask for it on letterhead if a university wants a percentage.

If You Studied at VNSGU: BCom, BSc, BBA and BCA Routes
A three-year VNSGU degree does not rule out a master's abroad. It simply needs a sharper country choice.
- BCom: MSc Accounting and Finance, Finance, International Business or Business Analytics. The UK and Ireland are common first choices. For Germany, you will need APS and, from the Summer 2027 intake, the dMAT.
- BSc (Chemistry, Physics, Microbiology, Maths and similar): MSc in the same subject, Biotechnology, Data Science, Environmental Science or Pharmaceutical Science. UK one-year MSc programmes fit well; for the US, check each graduate school's view on three-year degrees.
- BBA and BCA: management, marketing, IT management or computer science conversion master's. Many UK universities accept these with the right percentage.
- Still in your final year? Look at VNSGU's fourth-year Honours option before you decide. A four-year degree can widen the list of countries, but it also adds a year, so weigh it against your timeline.
For the US, practice differs a lot. Arizona State University, for example, publishes guidance that Indian three-year degrees can be acceptable for admission review, while other graduate schools ask applicants from India for a longer degree or a master's.
